Livin' La Vida Diva
It's been a minute. (Sorry!) Some of you might have been wondering how's my life going, especially after my post about my current state life state and the quarter crisis I am going through.
Well... though I have remained blessed, my life has continued to be filled with stress.
And would anyone like to know what I did in attempt to relieve some of that stress...?
I thought that the answer would be to relieve some financial debt. But in order to do that.... I had to pick up another job. But I didn't just pick up one job. Oh no, that wasn't enough. I picked up TWO!!!!
So I technically, I added more temporary stress to eliminate longterm stress.
I picked up a job at a hookah lounge as a server and a job at a bridal shop as a "Wedding Party Stylist." I got both of them around the same time and have been working like a hebrew slave for about the last 3-4 weeks.
I work one night throughout the week (usually Wednesdays) and Friday - Sunday at the lounge. I only work weekends at the bridal shop. It has been three weeks since I have had a day off. I literally go from one job to the other most days. To give you an example of what my weekends look like:
Friday: (full time job) 8:30am-4pm, Then I drive home which takes......30-60min depending on traffic. I change and I leave for the next job from 7pm- who knows, about 2-3am
Saturday: (bridal job) 9:30am-5:30 am. I live about 45min away so just the commute feels like a job within itself. Then I go home and change immediately and head to the lounge from 7:30- God knows when.
Sunday: Repeat Sat.
And I am back at work, at my desk, on Monday at 8:30am. Oh and I also design social media flyers for the lounge in the little "down" time that I have.
Ya girl is wore out. I don't have time for ANYTHING anymore. And all I ever wanna do is sleep if I am not at work, or on my feet, moving around. I couldn't even stay up for the two-hour Grey's Anatomy premier!
So I had to take a step back and ask myself,
"Is the money really worth it?
And it wasn't--not in this situation. I had to quit the lounge. The money just wasn't as good as I thought it would be and isn't worth the extra added exhaustion and lack of time to do anything else. I put in a week and a half's notice and this will be my last sleepless weekend. PRAISE. HIS. NAME.
However, it does suck a little, 'cause I really like my co workers and I was just finally starting to get the hang of things there and getting familiar with the different regulars that come in.
But, I need to finish trying to get my life together. I have my own things I would like to accomplish and would rather commit my time to improving myself so that I can make more money for myself. And I can't do that if I spend all my waking hours making money for someone else.....
So diva3jobs is about to be diva2jobs... (and might be back to one soon) lol we'll see how long that last. That's another story for another day!
For now, I gotta focus on getting through this weekend and preparing for AFRO PUNK next weekend! I am very excited about my outfit! Can't wait to show you all!
In other news:
I just bought a new camera that I am stoked about, and I found out my "lucky" number is 3, ironically. lol
